The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is trying to seek the support of the Dalit community by inducting Udit Raj in its ranks and launching an attack on Arvind Kejriwal.

It was the support of this community that helped Kejriwal defeat then chief minister Sheila Dikshit in the assembly polls.

“Arvind Kejriwal cheated Dalits. In their manifesto, AAP had said they will regualrise the sanitation workers and he didn’t do it. It didn’t require legislation but just a simple executive order. It wouldn’t even have taken 49 minutes to do this, and he had full 49 days. He has betrayed the community and played with the emotions of the Valmiki Samaj,” said Udit Raj, special invitee to the National Executive, BJP.

He alleged that on August 02, 2008, Kejriwal had participated in a discussion, which was organized by Youth for Equality Forum at Tapti Hostel, JNU.

“The Youth for Equality Forum had originated to oppose reservation in 2006. Kejriwal is free to hold on to his opinion on any subject but should not cheat by hiding his real opinions. In the recently concluded Delhi assembly elections, what he had exploited the most was the votes of the Dalits. The reservation is lifeline of SC/ST and he exploited this sentiment to the hilt. If he is honest and ethical person then he should inform Dalits that he does not approve of reservation. Mental corruption is more dangerous than economic corruption and it can ruin the nation,” he added.
