Opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti, who was to file nomination for parliament polls on Tuesday, suffered embarrassment when she failed to produce bank account as prescribed by the Election Commission of India.

Mehbooba, PDP's star candidate, remained stuck for hours together at district commissioner's office after the officials demanded fresh bank account as per guidelines.
She fanned out senior party leaders to open fresh account. Till 1.30 pm, Mufti failed to produce the bank account.
Mehbooba was first to file nomination in south Kashmir, which is going for polls on April 24.
