A 45-YEAR-OLD woman of Dhanua village died allegedly due to doctors’ negligence at an unregistered clinic in Naini. The daughter of the deceased has lodged an FIR against the doctors at Naini police station. She also made a complaint to the CMO office on Monday after the police reportedly failed to take any action against the guilty doctors.
Around 15-year-old Seema, daughter of Saroj Devi, said her mother Saroj Devi was suffering with some problem in her legs for which she visited a polyclinic and maternity centre in Naini to get herself treated. But as the problem persisted, the doctors wrongly diagnosed her as suffering from kidney stone and conducted surgery on March 24.
She died during surgery and soon after that the doctors who were conducting the surgery absconded from the hospital, she said.
“No consent was taken from us before conducting the surgery. What’s more an ultrasound was also conducted before the surgery in which everything was found to be normal. But still the doctors scared us about her condition and insisted on conducting the surgery,” she further said.
Seema said, despite lodging an FIR, no action was taken against the guilty people.

{{/usCountry}}District health department staff informed that on checking the records it was found that the clinic was not registered. It was also involved in all types of illegal activities under the patronage of local leaders, MLAs and MPs, a staff member said.
Chief medical officer Dr Shantimal Singhavi said a panel will be made to investigate the complaints, since it is a very serious matter. On the basis of the report, stern action will be taken against the owner, he said.
