On Tuesday, a couple residing in east Delhi’s Shahdara got a gangrape case registered at Palwal against three men.

In her complaint, she alleged that she was kept hostage for over 10 days by Romesh of Bamnikhera village and raped by him and his two friends.

The police have registered a case under different sections of the Indian Penal Code and launched a hunt for the three.

Although her husband was able to rescue the woman, they chose not to report the matter to local police and returned to Delhi.

The police said her husband had lodged a missing person’s report in Delhi and had even announced a reward of Rs25,000 for his wife’s whereabouts.

“We took the matter very seriously and registered case against the three under various sections of the IPC,” Yad Ram, SHO Sadar police station, Palwal said.
