The incident occured on Friday late night when Jyotsana Parmar (24) set herself ablaze resulting in serious burn injuries, they said.

Jyotsana was then admitted to the Government hospital, they said adding she succumbed to her injuries last evening.

Jyotsana'a father Jagdish Chauhan lodged a coamplaint against her in-laws at the Madana police station, police added.

According to Chauhan's complaint, Jyotsana's husband Mukesh, father-in-law Parmabhai, mother-in-law Sharda and three others used to torture her and demanded money which forced her to take the extreme step.

Jyotsana was living with her parents in Virpur village since three months and was reluctant to go back to her in-laws, but after her parents insisted she went back to her husband's house on Monday last, the complaint added.

But within five days of returning to her in-laws Jyotsana allegedly committed suicide, Chauhan said, adding that his daughter's husband and his famliy members were responsible for her death.

Further investigation is on in the matter, they said.
