One of the accused has been arrested and the deputy inspector general has ordered strict action against the errant policemen, a police officer said.

Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Kalpana Saxena reportedly received information from a jawan that some traffic constables were accepting bribes at the Naktiya Nakal area.

When Saxena and her team reached the spot in her personal vehicle around 6.30 pm, they reportedly spotted the policemen accepting bribe from truck drivers.

The accused tried to flee in a Maruti car when Saxena approached, the officer said.

She then reached in and grabbed the collar of the driver, constable Manoj Kumar, but he did not stop the car, dragging her along.

As Saxena started losing her grip, the driver pushed her hard and she fell by the road. Pedestrians rushed to help her, while the guilty men fled, the officer said.
