A 20-year-old pregnant woman on Tuesday died of the dreaded Swine Flu in Medak district, government official said.
The deceased hailing from Zaheerabad locality of Medak district was undergoing treatment at the Gandhi hospital for the past one week, succumbed to the H1N1 this afternoon, they said.
Confirming her death Dr K Subhakar, State Chief Coordinator, Swine Flu Chest Hospital, Andhra Pradesh, said the 20-year-old pregnant woman was admitted on June 11 was suffering from bilateral pneumonia with both lungs affected and was on ventilator support, she died at around 1.30 pm, due to advance disease.
Dr Subhakar also confirmed two new cases of H1N1 which are confirmed positive. These two cases are 17 year-old male. Both these patients are under Home quarantine and are stable.
Dr Subhakar said that since June 1st so far eight H1N1 positive confirmed cases have been reported from the state.
It may be recalled that one more patient died in the Visakhapatnam district last week.
However Dr Subhakar said that the situation was well under control and their was no cause for panic. The death of this woman had occurred due to advanced stage of the disease.
