Haryana Urban Development Authority administrator Nitin Yadav on Friday asked his officials to fix the problem of waterlogging on the Gurgaon Expressway. The agency received a lot of flak after the heavy downpour on Monday had triggered huge traffic jams on the expressway and other link roads.

Yadav, who chaired a meeting of superintending engineers, executive engineers and contractors, asked them to repair storm water drains which are in bad shape.

According to officials, even a minor rain can trigger waterlogging at Hero Honda Chowk, Aardee City and Rajiv Chowk. Yadav told officials to first concentrate on trouble spots.

"There are five areas which are vulnerable to waterlogging. These are MG Road, Sohna Road, sector 29 road, sector 55-56 road and Sheetla Mata Road. The administrator insisted that no waterlogging should happen in these areas,” said an officer.
