The new railway line will cost over Rs 3.89 crore and expected to mitigate the problem of congestion for movement of railway traffic between Allahabad and Subedarganj.

It is worth mentioning that at present there are two rail lines between Allahabad and Subedarganj, which are always facing heavy load. This results in trains being forced to stop at Subedarganj or Bamrauli.

Speaking on the occasion, Budh Prakash said that once put in use, the new tracks would prove beneficial for passengers as well as for the Indian Oil Corporation and the railway factories. He said the plan was to complete all the work before the start of the Ardh Kumbh and that was the reason for setting November 7, 2006 as the deadline for completing the work.
