The workshop is part of the Vanvasi Kalyan Parishad’s efforts to find a lasting solution to the acute water scarcity in the tribal-dominated Jhabua district which forces the tribals to leave the district in search of greener pastures in summer.

As the State Government’s efforts in this regard failed to provide the desired results so fat, the Vanvasi Kalyan Parishad came to the rescue of the tribals and started the programme Shiv Ganga Abhiyan under which the villagers are given technical training in water conservation.

Speaking at the concluding function of the two-day workshop, Vanvasi Kalyan Parishad state general secretary Mahesh Sharma said that the Shiv Ganga Abhiyan was started by the Parishad in order to provide necessary technical training in water conservation to the tribal youths to help them conserve the precious water to tide over the crisis situation in the summer season.

The concluding function was presided over by Dr PK Sen, while NCA secretary MK Chouhan was the special guest of the function.
