Wrong answers irk engg aspirants

A LARGE number of students who took the test for admission to various state and private engineering colleges on April 23 were disappointed with the question papers made by the Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU).

Although they were well-prepared for the examination, on getting the question papers, they were confused, as they could not put tick in the box for the right answer. The reason: The answers the question paper carried were wrong.

According to some teachers of chemistry, while the question paper was easy, the answers to the questions were all incorrect. Consequently, the candidates could not put tick in box for right option.

Most candidates did not attempt such questions with confusing answer options to avoid negative marking. Besides, for some questions two correct answer options were given in the paper. Now, it is not known which option would be considered by the computer as correct. The will cause a great problem for the students. On getting the ‘most confused question paper’, many students decided to opt out of the examination in the first meeting.
