The case under Section 295 (hurting religious sentiment) was registered in Mhow following complaint in zero and then transferred to Tukoganj.

Yadav and other Congress leaders including City Congress president Ujagar Singh, MLA Ramlal Yadav, senior Congress leaders Tulsi Silawat, Pramod Tandon, Kripa Shankar Shukla and K K Mishra met the SP, Adarsh Katiyar and demanded that the cases be withdrawn immediately.

They said the imposition of cases were politically motivated and if this case was registered then cases should also be registered against former Chief Minister Uma Bharti who cut a cake, which had egg in it, at a Hanuman temple at Chhindwara, thereby insulting Lord Hanuman, and also against IMC speaker Lalit Porwal who once in a poster showed Uma Bharti as Goddess Laxmi.

Yadav also demanded an assurance from the SP that no arrests would be made in this case. The SP gave no such assurance, but said they would hold an impartial inquiry into the entire matter.
