IT’S POETIC connectivity of the e-kind. Four hundred poets from across the globe are already on ekavita @yahoogroups.com. And the family is expanding. The Net gain? “Hindi, of course!” says Anoop Bhargava, the Rajasthani from New Jersey.

Bhargava, who flew in from the USA was honoured by the State Government for popularising Hindi abroad on Thursday. “Popularising Hindi is a passion, poetry is pure emotion and the worldwide web is the solution.” At his site, once in a poet is never deleted. “We ensure that once someone has logged on with us, the person is never logged out of our reach,” Bhargava, the secretary of International Hindi Association, said while talking to HT after his felicitation.

There is no language bar for poets. “We welcome poetries in all languages. But, our only condition is if it’s not Hindi the poet should also provide for a Hindi translation of the same,” said Bhargava, who runs his own software solutions company in USA. The poems, there are about 30 per day, are evaluated by poets globally, comments posted and good entries marked for special mention. Is the poetic effort worth it? “You bet!” he says.
