CITY YOUTH Congress (YC) led by its president Devendra Singh Yadav staged a demonstration in front of the Divisional Commissioner’s office this morning demanding sacking of the State Government and a CBI inquiry into the death of Madhav College teacher Professor H S Sabharwal during students’ elections.
They gave these demands in a memorandum addressed to the Governor, which was handed over to SDM Vivek Kshotriya. In the memorandum YC alleged that the State Government and the administration were bending backwards to help the accused in this case.
In the first place the police were unwilling to arrest anyone and even Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Professor Sabharwal’s death was an accident. It was only when pressure was applied that cases were registered against ABVP activists. However, even then, many of the ABVP leaders who were behind the murder had not been arrested.
