"The young players joined the team for the one-dayers and their youthful enthusiasm reinvigorated all the players and that kept us going," Chappell said after India won the fifth and final match against Pakistan to clinch the series 4-1.

"Young boys pulled it around. The ground fielding was good and then they added runs with bat... They have got talent and they need oppurtunities," he said.

Chappell said after the loss in Test series it was remarkable for the team to show character and come back strongly to wrap up the series on winning note.

"In Test matches the conditions were tough. The bowlers had to work hard. Probably one or two good session in the last Test would have made the difference. But we put all that behind," he said.

"They work hard. They have the oppurtunity to develop themselves in the coming tours.

The Australian great said it was a good indication that the team had won most of the matches in recent times, that too while batting second.

"Practising winning is a good thing. Recently we have won several matches chasing. When opportunities come we have couple of resposibilities tossed up for players and then we understand what we have to do," he said.
