Young scholar does city proud

A YOUNG researcher and an Allahabad University (AU) pass-out Anshu Malhotra has been selected for making a presentation of her research findings in molecular parasitology at Max Planck International Research School, Germany.

A YOUNG researcher and an Allahabad University (AU) pass-out Anshu Malhotra has been selected for making a presentation of her research findings in molecular parasitology at Max Planck International Research School, Germany.

This honour has been bestowed upon Anshu after she was honoured with Prof Babar Mirza Gold Medal of Indian Society of Parasitology in Dibrugarh last year where she also bagged another gold medal for the presentation on genotoxic antagonistic interactions in microbes on giant freshwater prawn, macrobrachium rosenbergii.

At the age of 14 years, Anshu while studying in St Mary’s Convent, made her contributions in spreading awareness about fluoride in drinking water in Allahabad and resulting fluorosis disorders in children and elders alike with mixed symptoms as of arthritis that has gradually become incurable overtime.

She was honoured with the National Child Scientist Award in 1995, Best Girl Treshman Medal at Boys High School in 1999, National Children Scientist Award in 1995, National Child Award for exceptional achievements in academics by Ministry of Human Resource Development where she was blessed by the President of India Dr SD Sharma in 1996, Chancellor’s Medal at undergraduate level in University of Allahabad and Dr RS Das Medal at the undergraduate level in year 2002.
