Staking claim for Kumarsein seat, former Indian Youth Congress spokesman Pramod Sharma said "shifting of constituency by HPCC chief will send wrong signals and amount to betrayal of people of Theog."

It would also be a severe set-back to the democratic aspirations of youth in Kumarsein, he said.

Hinting that he would contest the elections from Kumarsein as an independent if denied ticket by the Congress, Sharma said he has already met senior party leaders, including AICC president Sonia Gandhi and general secretaries Mohsina Kidwai, Amibika Soni and Moti Lal Vora.

Sharma, who is also the spokesman of state Congress Sewa Dal, said at least five tickets from Shimla, Gangat, Kumarsein, Chopal and Sulah should be given to Sewa Dal workers, who were in a position to win confortably.
