A youth carrying a loaded pistol was arrested when he tried to approach former chief minister Arjun Munda at a Kali puja pandal in Bistupur police station area, police said on Sunday.

Officials said Manoj Sundi, who has a criminal past, was arrested on Saturday night by Special Task Force personnel with a six-round pistol.
Earlier, two persons were arrested by the police as they were moving suspiciously near a venue for a rally at Boya village in Singhbhum district which was to be addressed by Munda on October 15.
The police had recovered two fire-arms and live cartridges from their possession.
