Youths should create nuclear weapons free world: Kalam

Former President A P J Abdul Kalam tonight asked youths to strive and join hands to create a nuclear weapons-free and poverty-free world.

Former President A P J Abdul Kalam tonight asked youths to strive and join hands to create a nuclear weapons-free and poverty-free world.

Addressing a function -- Super Congress -- in which nearly 1,000 students from 18 countries were participating, Kalam said that there were three billion youths across the world and 40 million in India. If this strong contingent of youths join hands, the world could be made nuclear-weapons free.

He said that youths should develop good thoughts for the benefit of poor and added that seeds of such thoughts could be sown by the parents and teachers in primary schools.

They also have a task to totally erase the increasing terrorist activities in various parts of the world, so that people could live in peace, Kalam said.
