The Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday decided to write a letter to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) urging it to probe the conspiracy angle in the helicopter crash that killed Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and four others last month.
Home Minister P. Sabita Indra Reddy told reporters that the government would write to the CBI to probe this angle as doubts were being expressed on whether the chopper crash was merely an accident.
Reddy referred to stories carried by Sakshi, a Telugu daily and television channel by the same name owned by YSR's son Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy. The newspaper and channel expressed views that sabotage could have led to the chopper crash Sep 2.
The home minister was talking to reporters after Chief Minister K. Rosaiah chaired a high-level meeting on law and order.
The meeting also discussed the status of investigations into the chopper crash and took note of the doubts being expressed by various quarters.
Rosaiah felt there was a need to probe the accident from all angles and decided to write a letter to the CBI, which is already probing the incident.
The home minister pointed out that Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and a two-member commission formed by the state government were also conducting investigations into the crash.

{{/usCountry}}"Let the reports come," Reddy said when asked to comment on the demand by Congress MP Madhu Yaskhi for her resignation owning moral responsibility for the accident. She said posts were not important for her.
"Immediately after the crash, we all thought it was an accident. But since some people are expressing doubts, facts have to be brought out," Rosaiah had said Tuesday.
YSR, his special secretary, chief security officer and two pilots were killed when their chopper crashed in bad weather over a hillock in Kurnool district. The chief minister was on his way to Chittoor district.
