Zaheera has surrendered in keeping with the Supreme Court order sentencing her to one year jail term.

Zaheera, who was in tears, sought Judge Abhay Thipsey's permission to say something in camera.

The Judge granted the same and asked all those present in the courtroom, including reporters, to leave.

Zaheera, who was brought to the court around 9.30 am and appeared before the Judge at 11.30 am, had surrendered on March 10, pleading she may be sent to a Maharashtra jail and not in Gujarat as she feared for her life.
