The tall, elegant de Bruyn, has some characteristics of the late great Hansie Cronje and yet although he shows tremendous patience in being able to hit the bad ball and leave the good ball.

As far as his bowling goes, De Bruyn is a very decent, 130-135kph bowler who can swing the ball as well.

At last the selectors have noticed this and have credited his performances with a chance to play for South Africa. Let’s hope Zander can show his class and concentration in a place where concentration is the highest requirement needed to succeed, in India.
