A repentant Zinedine Zidane is believed to have apologised to his Les Blues teammates after his vicious head butt led to a sent-off and possibly cost France the World Cup.

Zizou's teammate Jean-Alain Boumsong told Sky Sports that Zidane apologised to them for being sent off in the World Cup final on Sunday against Italy.
Asked whether Zidane had apologised, Boumsong said: "Yes, yes of course. He is very disappointed to have made that fault."
The superstar brought shame on his nation when he was sent off for viciously head butting Marco Materazzi in extra time of the thrilling final that saw Italy win 5-3 on penalties.
The French players were understandably down and Newcastle defender Boumsong revealed Zidane attempted to appease them by apologising.
Defending his team's performance, Boumsong said they did all they could to win the Cup for a second time.
"We had a good run, but unfortunately we have lost the most important game. We have done well and did our best to win the game."
