Eves as the investigation into death of tribal farmer Bhim Singh continues, the MP government has decided to extend relief to his family, said Barwani district collector Ajay Kumar Gangwar on Sunday.
Bhim Singh, a farmer of Solwan village under Warla police station limits, had left his house on Friday evening to irrigate his field, but was found hanging from a tree the next morning. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
“The administration has decided to engage his wife with a self-help group, besides providing her other benefits through Indira Awas Yojna, Rashtriya Parivar Sahayata scheme and Janshree Bima plan. His father will be also provided a well to irrigate his fields,” Gangwar told HT after visiting Solwan village.
Primary investigations suggested that Bhim Singh’s father Dongriya had distributed his one acre land between Bhim Singh and his brother Chaman Singh. Besides, Bhim Singh had four more acres of land.
Bhim Singh had taken Rs 30,000 loan from unknown moneylenders of Sendhwa and Solwan village. Besides, he had mortgage 1.5kg silver ornaments through his uncle at Betawad village in Maharashtra, Gangwar said. He was also suffering from the problem of stones in his kidney, for which he was taking treatment from various places.

{{/usCountry}}For the past six years, Bhim Singh and his brother used to go Maharashtra to work as labourers. They used to take advance money for their work from the people engaging them in Maharashtra.
This year too, they had taken advance money from a person in Maharastra promising to work for him, said the district collector.
Investigating officer in the case, Suresh Mahale of Warla police station said the police have recorded statements of Bhim Singh’s relatives.
Local MLA and labour minister Anter Singh Arya said the government is with Bhim Singh’s family and provide all possible facilities.
