MS Dhoni’s lungi dance video surfaces ahead of Pune vs Mumbai IPL final

Video of the behind-the-scenes of a television commercial shot last year showing MS Dhoni with film personality Prabhu Deva has been gaining popularity during IPL 2017

MS Dhoni is set to play the IPL 2017 final for Rising Pune Supergiant against Mumbai Indians on Sunday. While the team has done splendidly this season, MS Dhoni hasn’t been at his explosive best with the bat, managing just 280 runs in 15 matches.

In fact, there have been more off-the-field news stories around MS Dhoni - the fact that he was replaced as the Rising Pune Supergiant captain ahead of the season and the social media comments of the franchise owner’s brother Harsh Goenka.

While MS Dhoni fans have stood by him through all the criticism, they have finally found a reason to smile over the Ranchi man’s performance, albeit not a recent performance or even one on the cricket field.

A behind-the-scenes video from a television commercial starring Dhoni that was shot last year has found favour with his fans lately.

The video currently going viral is only a short excerpt of the entire behind-the-scenes, showing Dhoni dance with Prabhu Deva as the actor-choreographer teaches him how to fold the mundu he is wearing.

In the commercial, having inaugurated a motorbike showroom, the then India captain struggles to get on a bike because of his inability to manoeuvre the lungi he is wearing. Prabhu Deva steps in at this point and teaches him to wrap up the vestment with the shake of the hip.
