IPL 2026 Schedule: It’s time to gear up for the most anticipated season of the Indian Premier League yet! The IPL continues to grow bigger and bigger, cementing its status as the crown jewel of T20 cricket. The richest franchise league in the world is officially set to begin on March 28, 2026. Following a historic 2025 season—where Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally broke their 18-year jinx to lift the trophy—the hunt for the 2026 title begins with a high-voltage opening phase.
The BCCI has officially announced the IPL 2026 schedule for the first 20 games, covering the window from March 28 up to April 12, 2026. The remainder of the 74-match schedule will be released in batches, a strategic move by the board to navigate the upcoming state elections across the country. As teams begin to pencil out travel plans and fans bookmark dates, the dream of a trophy at the end of this long campaign officially starts now.
Phase 1: A Grand Opening Across 13 Venues
The initial 20 matches will see each of the ten franchises play four matches (two home and two away). This opening burst will span across ten primary home cities, utilizing a total of 13 venues to bring the action to every corner of the subcontinent.

The playoffs will be held at New PCA Stadium (Mullanpur) and M. Chinnaswamy Stadium (Bengaluru), with the final hosted in Bengaluru.
Teams follow a double round-robin format where all 10 teams play each other twice, eliminating the need for virtual groups used in smaller schedules.
