The Delhi Daredevils skipper brought up his landmark by striking in the first ball of the Rising Pune Supergiant’s innings after his team had notched up 168/8. He removed Ajinkya Rahane for a golden duck with a delivery that nipped back off a good length to breach Rahane’s defences and uproot middle stump. (DD vs RPS: T20 MATCH SCORECARD)

Rahane’s wicket was Zaheer’s first wicket after five games, having last taken a wicket in the game against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens when he removed Gautam Gambhir for 14.

Zaheer became the ninth player in the history of the IPL to pick up 100 wickets and he achieved it in his 99th IPL game. He is the seventh Indian overall to pick up 100 wickets, with Amit Mishra leading the pack for Indian bowlers with 134 wickets in 125 games. Overall, Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga leads the wickets tally in IPL with 152 wickets in 107 games.

Jaydev Unadkat enters 50-wicket club

Jaydev Unadkat continued his magnificent form as he picked up his 50th wicket against Delhi Daredevils.

Unadkat, who had opened the attack, struck with the first ball of his second over as he removed Shreyas Iyer for 3 as the batsman edged a short ball outside off to MS Dhoni to reduce Delhi Daredevils to 9/2. This made Unadkat the 41st player to reach 50 wickets in IPL and the 27th Indian overall to achieve this feat.
