Later, people demonstrated against the accused hospital employees and demanded action against them.

Janana Hospital is Bharatpur division’s largest hospital. Hitesh, 22, of Murbara village took his wife Rekha, 22, for examination. Rekha is a disabled.

Arguments began when ultrasound technical Yadram Meena asked him to stand in a queue when Hitesh went to the counter for registration. Hitesh objected to this saying disabled people should get preference. When Hitesh continued to raise his voice against what he called wrong systems in the hospital, Meena along with a colleague allegedly thrashed him.

Later, people present in the hospital during the beating demonstrated outside the hospital and shouted slogans against the accused staff.

Bharatpur chief medical and health officer (CMHO) Gopal Sharma said there was a rush near the counter which led to arguments between the woman’s husband and nursing student Meena, who was on duty at the ultrasound counter,. “The issue was resolved and the woman sent for sonography,” he said.
