He is presently on bail since 2007 in a case relating to the issuance of a pistol licence in his name on fake papers, filed in Sriganganagar.

A marble and granite businessman with an MBA degree, Chandana, 29, was elected Rajasthan Youth Congress president in March 2013 and Congress legislator from Hindauli in December 2013.

He won Hindauli seat defeating BJP candidate Mahi Pat Singh by 18,453 votes. He came to light first in 2007 as a beneficiary in the infamous Ganga Nagar illegal gun licence scandal.

Chandana, who belongs to Bundi district, allegedly got a pistol licence issued in his name on a fake address in Sriganganagar.
His father, Dev Lal Gurjar, is a notorious criminal.

In the seven-year-old illegal licences scandal, four RAS official, then posted in Ganganagar, were suspended. Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) is yet to complete its probe in the multi-crore scandal. These officials allegedly issued the licences for gratification.
