Doctors’ strike continued for the fifth day in Rajasthan due to which health services remained badly affected on Wednesday.

After a meeting, the Rajasthan Medical College Teachers Association (RMCTA) said that they will be forced to join the agitation in case the deadlock continues. “Looking at the interest of patients, the government and All Rajasthan In-Service Doctors Association (ARISDA) should begin talks,” RMCTA secretary Dr Dhananjai Agrawal said.

He said that there is resentment among doctors over atrocities on medical officers and RMCTA is against such action. “RMCTA is ready to extend cooperation to hold talks and if the deadlock continues the Rajasthan Medical College Teachers too would be forced to join the agitation,” Dr Agrawal said.

Meanwhile, Jaipur Association of Resident Doctors (JARD) joint secretary Dr Mukesh Mahla said that the strike by resident and senior resident doctors will continue till demands of in-service and resident doctors are met.

A medical team from the Alwar military hospital, including four doctors, seven nursing staff and three ambulances, was sent to Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital on the request of the Alwar district collector. The team had attended to more than 300 patients, informed a press release from the defence ministry.
