The Right to Recall vote is a proposed law that would allow citizens to replace public servants holding key posts in the government.

Jain,62, succeeded in bagging his name in the second list of AAP party candidates list declared recently. Jain grabbed headlines in 2012, when he won the first ever Right to Recall poll in Rajasthan, which was held for deciding on retaining or recalling Jain from the post of chairperson of Mangrol municipality.

The Right to Recall vote was held since Jain had lost the no- confidence motion at the hands of 17 out of 20 corporators in January 2012, who had accused him of non-performance and autocratic functioning. But later, the people of Mangrol ensured his victory in the Right to Recall vote.

Jain is a farmer by profession and has agricultural land in Mangrol. He currently resides in Kota.

While talking to HT after being declared the AAP candidate from Kota, he said that infrastructural requirements of the people, including power and water supply, would remain the key issues for him in the upcoming polls.

When asked whether his candidature would affect his party’s prospects in the Lok Sabha polls in the state since he would become busy in his own election, Jain said that along with his own contest, he would look after the party’s work in the entire state.

About the Congress MP from Kota Ijyaraj Singh, Jain said that Singh is an honest person but he has failed to make his political stature so far. “Singh did not succeeded in fulfilling his promises made to the people of Kota including restarting the airport here,” he said.
