The chief minister was addressing a gathering at Janpath to mark the first anniversary celebrations of the state BJP government.

Raje said the government was coming out with Vidyarthi Sahayak cadre instead of Vidyarthi Mitras which was introduced by the previous government.

The selection process for Mitras was complicated and had to be abolished, she said, adding the government had also made board examinations for Class 8 optional. Earlier, the Congress government had exempted the students from the examination and made it mandatory to pass all students.

The chief minister appealed to the masses to support the party for emerging victorious in the panchayat elections scheduled to be held in February next year.

She did not scrap the zero interest loan scheme for farmers as was expected earlier.

NTT teachers’ protest

Four women demanding employment for candidates of Nursery Teachers Training (NTT) raised the issue before the chief minister through banners.
