Raje unveiled the policy while inaugurating the first edition of the ‘Rajasthan Startup Fest,’ which is underway in the Sitapura area.

The new startup policy aims to set up 50 incubators and support to over 500 innovative startups among others in the next five years.

Addressing the meet, that witnessed participation from more than 500 people including about 100 startups in various fields, the CM said: “If Bangalore is where it all began in startups I can assure you Rajasthan is where it will be. Rajasthan is a world-beater and will remain so in the times to come.”

Praising the ventures started in the state, she said: “I am sure that the young and budding entrepreneurs and startups that are on the threshold of taking off shall take advantage of the Rajasthan Startup Policy-2015 and the dynamic environment being provided by the startup fest will take their careers, companies and the country to greater heights.”

Industries minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar, who was also present on the inaugural day of the two-day programme, said Jaipur has been ranked number eight as far as startup funding was concerned. “…Now with release of (the) policy and with organisation of national startup fest, the ranking will now improve.”

On the occasion, chairman of Mahindra Holidays and Resorts India Limited, Arun Nanda, announced that he would be mentoring three startups in the state.
