It came a day after FIRs were filed against Ramdev here and Sonbhadra over his remarks that had sparked massive outrage with the Congress, BSP and others terming them “anti-Dalit” though Ramdev later expressed regret to the community.

“All programmes of Ramdev have been banned in Lucknow. The district administration had earlier taken an affidavit from him that only yoga programmes will be held by his organisation and no remarks will be made which could hurt any religion or community,” a senior official said.

In Jaipur, Dalit activists and nine others submitted a complaint against Ramdev to the Jyoti Nagar police station on Sunday for his comments against Gandhi. Centre for Dalit Rights director Satish Kumar said the yoga guru’s remarks hurt the sentiments of the Dalits and he should be arrested immediately.
