The CPI(M) politburo member and main campaigner for Left Front in the assembly elections will attend a road show organised by the district Left Front on April 26 in an open jeep on the same route which was covered by the Trinamool Congress chief on April 9.

The padayatra of about 7 km will start from Botanic Garden around 4pm and reach HIT Park in Ghusuri, north of Howrah town, through GT Road, Mullick Phatak, Jogmaya, Kadamtala and Belilious Road.

Earlier, Bhattacharjee had participated in a road show with an impressive turn out of more than one lakh in the area under his Jadavpur and three other assembly constituencies after Banerjee walked several kilometres through different assembly constituencies in southern and central parts of Kolkata.

Majumder said, "People have understood the hollow promises of the Trinamool chief. Around 1.5 lakh people attended the Left Front rally in Dhulagarh on January 2."
