Kolkata Port Trust withdraws plea

The Calcutta HC on Friday dismissed as withdrawn a prayer by Kolkata Port Trust seeking direction to Haldia Bulk Terminals (HBT) to resume its normal cargo handling operation, following a plea by KoPT not to press the petition.

KoPT counsel submitted that with the HBT informing the port authorities that it would not continue operation at Haldia Dock Complex, its application for a direction to HBT has become infructuous.
