"The centre has informed us that they are sending six companies of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to the state. We'll deploy these central forces in and around Lalgarh region," state Home Secretary Ardhendu Sen told reporters here at the Writers' Buildings, the state secretariat.

He said the central forces would arrive in the state in the next three days.

"These six companies of central forces will be used to conduct intense operation in the Maoist-infested areas," he said.

Altogether 17 companies of CRPF are currently deployed in West Bengal's violence-hit Lalgarh region.
