Unclaimed box triggers panic in Howrah

An unclaimed container, apparently looking like an ammunition box, was found on a sleeper coach of a Bhadrak-bound train in Howrah station today, triggering panic, Superintendent of Railway Police B L Meena said.

Bomb squad personnel were called in to check the box and ascertain if it had any high explosive materials or firearms inside, Meena told PTI.

Sniffer dogs were immediately engaged at platform number 21.

Senior railway and police officers rushed to the spot.
