Ria Sakraney and Divya Dev have come up with a community project, titled the Good Crane Weekend. Between today and Sunday, every time you visit one of the 20-odd city locations that they have tied up with, you’ll be handed an origami paper crane. Each crane has a simple good deed written on it, which you’re encouraged to carry out. And those who send pictures of their deeds on the project’s official Facebook page, stand to win prizes.

“We’re off to college in September and quit our jobs early; this project has been like an interim job,” says Ria, who along with Divya, started off with an Instagram account, posting pictures of cranes in different places. “When people started asking us the point of it, we brainstormed and came up with this idea. We weren’t sure how people would react, but everyone’s been welcoming,” she adds.
