Bansgaon Election Results 2019: The UP constituency is under BJP

Reserved for members of Scheduled Castes, the Bharatiya Janata Party has won the Basgaon Lok Sabha seat five times since 1991, except in 1999 and 2004.

Reserved for members of Scheduled Castes, the Bharatiya Janata Party has won the Basgaon Lok Sabha seat five times since 1991, except in 1999 and 2004.

The Samajwadi Party’s Subhawati Paswan successfully contested the general election in 1999 and Congress’ Mahabir Prasad bagged the Bansgaon seat in 2004. Kamlesh Paswan of the BJP has represented Bansgaon in the Lok Sabha since 2009.

The assembly segments of Chauri-Chaura, Bansgaon, Chillupar, Rudrapur and Barhaj are under the Bansgaon Lok Sabha seat, which is largely rural.

Uttar Pradesh, which sends the maximum number of members to Parliament at 80, saw polls in all the seven phases of the Lok Sabha election 2019. BJP’s Kamlesh Paswan is currently leading the scene in Bansgaon.
