Lok Sabha elections 2019: In Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa, BJP looks to retain seat

In Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa Lok Sabha constituency, the BJP has fielded its sitting MP Janardan Mishra once again while the Congress is pinning its hopes on Siddharth Tiwari ‘Raj’.

Rewa is one of the 29 Lok Sabha Constituencies of Madhya Pradesh. It is one of the constituencies that first came into existence in 1951.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the Rewa Lok Sabha seat was won by BJP’s Janardhan Mishra who defeated the Congress’s Sunderlal Tiwari by a margin of 168,726 votes.

For the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP has fielded its sitting MP Janardan Mishra once again while the Congress is pinning its hopes on Siddharth Tiwari ‘Raj’ and the CPI(M) has fielded Girijesh Singh Sengar from the Rewa Lok Sabha seat.

Rewa is one of the few seats in the state which has voted to power the BJP, the Congress and the BSP in different elections.
