Lok Sabha Elections 2019: SPPU reschedules exams clashing with election dates in Pune, Baramati

The university has students in various colleges in Pune, Nashik and Ahmednagar districts and elections in these districts will be held on April 23 and 29

The Savitribai Phule Pune University’s (SPPU) examination department has decided to reschedule exams held by various departments in view of the elections in the region beginning April 23.

“We are working on the rescheduling of the examination dates which were scheduled from April 22 to 30 in view of the exam dates. A changed timetable of the exams for various departments will be published on the SPPU website within a week by our department,” said Ashok Chavan, head of the SPPU examination department.

The clashing of the exam dates of various departments with the election schedule has become a matter of concern for the SPPU. The university has students in various colleges in Pune, Nashik and Ahmednagar districts and elections in these districts will be held on April 23 and 29.

Students were worried about the postponement of the exams and its impact on other important events. Karan Patil, a student of Bachelor of Arts from SPPU said, “If our scheduled exams are again postponed due to elections our plans for further studies and going back to our village will get disturbed. I hope it doesn’t change too much and the exam period remains manageable.”
