Chairman of the Shia Central Waqf Board Wasim Rizvi demanded on Sunday a ban on the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), the highest decision making body of Muslims in the country, and labelled it as a terrorist organisation.
Rizvi’s strongly worded reaction against the AIMPLB came after the board sacked Salman Husaini Nadvi on Sunday at its ongoing session in Hyderabad.
Nadvi, an executive member of the AIMPLB, was shown the door after he suggested shifting the site of Babri Masjid from Ayodhya. His stand is contrary to the board’s view that Babri Masjid must be constructed at its original site in Ayodhya.
Recently, Nadvi met Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, founder of Art of Living, and extended his support to the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya and shifting of the site of the mosque to settle the long-pending dispute.
Not stopping here, Rizvi alleged that important decisions related with Indian Muslims were being dictated by terrorist organisations of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and the AIMPLB was a branch of these terrorist organisations.
Rizvi said the AIMPLB did not take any action against Nadvi when he wrote a letter to ISIS chief Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi congratulating him for declaring a Caliphate.

{{/usCountry}}Rizvi also attacked the AIMPLB on the issue of controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik, who has been declared an absconder by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). “India has declared Zakir Naik a terrorist. He has been declared an absconder. But he is still a member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board. Why the Board has not expelled him,” questioned Rizvi.
Naik, a televangelist and Islamic preacher, is wanted by the Indian authorities for indulging in unlawful activities and promoting religious hatred. He is currently in Malaysia.
