Making a political prediction, yoga guru Ramdev on Thursday said the Congress would split after the Lok Sabha polls.

“Though I have pledged not take up politics, I am making a political prediction today,” he said in Lucknow.

“They won’t get even 100 seats. The NDA will get 300 seats. After this setback, they will not be able to manage the party and it will split. While able Congress leaders will form a new party, others will join existing political parties... the Congress is on its death bed,” he said.

Calling Manmohan Singh a ‘robot prime minister’, Ramdev said he supported Narendra Modi as the PM candidate because Modi delivered on what he said.

Making it clear that he was not speaking on party lines, he said Modi was his personal choice.

“The Congress has plundered the coffers of India more than the British did. This family has looted more than 1000 lakhs of public money,” he said.

Taking a dig at the Congress, Ramdev said people on the social media call him ‘Pappu’ and ‘Bhondu’ while the woman whom the prime minister had been working for was cruel.

“I say if they term Modi maut ke saudagar, then Nehru was mahasaudagar for he was responsible for death of 30 lakh people during Partition,” said Ramdev.

The yoga guru, who was in Lucknow to launch a product, criticised multinational companies also.

He reiterated that MNCs were here to earn and not do charity.

“The country is having four types of taxes. Official tax, officer’s tax, politician’s tax and goonda tax, which has made things difficult,” he said.

Commenting upon Muzaffarnagar riots and a senior minister’s name figuring in a sting operation, he said, “Akhilesh is young and I hope the law will work on such things.”

Asked about BJP MLAs’ alleged involvement in the violence, Ramdev said irrespective of the party, they should be arrested and punished.
