A senior consultant surgeon was suspended here today for allegedly leaving a towel inside a woman's stomach while operating her.
On the directives of Health Minister Anant Kumar Mishra, Dr A K Shukla of UHM district hospital has been placed under suspension with immediate effect on charges of failing to discharge his duties and tarnishing the department's image,an official spokesman said here.
