The gas agencies and petrol pumps staff, though not directly employed by the IOC, are the ones who represent the company.

“They are the people who interact with consumers when they come to refill fuel tank or deliver gas cylinder. Through the training programme we want to improve the image and working efficiency of the staff,” said general manager IOC UP Singh.

During the training, the staff would be taught to inculcate simple habits like greeting a customer when he comes to book a cylinder or refill fuel tank.

“The capacity building programmes would include proper training on handling products, dispersing them safely and teaching them common etiquettes,” he added.

By involving clerks, petrol pump attendants and LPG cylinder deliverymen, the oil giant seeks to reach out to the last man in their link.

The corporation had felicitated all deliverymen and petrol pump attendants on the Indian Oil Day celebrations on August 30.

In Lucknow region, around 35,000 people are employed directly and indirectly with the IOC.
