"As far as law and order is concerned, work has to be done on it... It is true when any incident takes place, TV channels over-hype it," Yadav told newspersons on the sidelines of the US-India business summit here.

"I don't want to shield myself and UP, but the way you show the law and order is poor, I will like to request that please also show where the situation is good," he added.

Citing the robbery at a finance company in the Alambagh area of the state capital a month ago, he said the incident was a major one and the entire case was worked out. Such things also needed attention, he noted.

The government has been under pressure on the law and front in the last few weeks especially following the Kunda triple murder, clashes following the killing of a Hindu Yuva Vahini leader at Tanda in Ambedkar Nagar. The Tanda violence had led to the imposition of curfew there.
