All India Congress Committee (AICC) vice president Rahul Gandhi yesterday blamed the state government for slow pace of development and said he was doing his best to bring about development to Amethi and rest of Uttar Pradesh.
“We do not have our government in the state. Yet we are doing our best to bring about development. We will continue to make efforts to develop entire Uttar Pradesh,” said Rahul Gandhi after laying foundation stone of post office at Dhanesh village of Bazar Shukla area of his Amethi Lok Sabha constituency.
Rahul said the benefits of development schemes were not reaching the people due to corruption. The UPA government would now ensure that the government subsidies were transferred directly to the people, he said.
Promised development in the state he said his endeavour would be to develop the region in accordance with the vision of his father, late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Among the announcements that Rahul made on the occasion was setting up of the Hindustan Paper Mills. The mill would provide jobs to nearly 10,000 people, he said.
Other announcements that Rahul made there included setting of a mega food park at Jagdishpur. He said efforts were also being made to export the locally produced agriculture items.

{{/usCountry}}This is not for the first time that Rahul made these announcements. Some of these projects, including the setting up of the Hindustan Paper Mills, have been pending for quite some time.Rahul has also been speaking about setting up of 40 food-processing units in the constituency.
Rahul also found time to interact with his party’s youth wing workers at Jagdishpur. The youth Congress workers had assembled there from Amethi, Rae Bareli and Sultanpur areas. He also met Seva Dal workers at Gauriganj and interacted with a group of farmers at Kadunala guesthouse.
