Ex-army man Ram Narain,47, committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan of a room at his Para residence on Wednesday.

The police said that he had been under depression as his family had been through a financial crisis after his retirement. He had lost one leg on duty in extreme cold weather and had to leave the army.

The family members spotted his body hanging when they woke up on Wednesday morning. Narain’s son Brij Kumar informed the police.Para police station in charge RV Yadav said the victim had retired in 1996 after he lost his leg and remained unemployed ever since. He had to maintain a family of seven on pension. The members included his wife Gyanwati and five children- three sons Brij Kumar, Ved Kumar and Dharmendra Kumar and two daughters Soni and Rekha. His treatment was also going on at the army hospital for some years. Yadav said the victim had not left any suicide note. Missing man,s body found in septic tank.

Badly decomposed body of a 30-year-old contractor, who was missing for the last three weeks, was found in a septic tank in his neighbour’s house on the city outskirts in Nigoha area on Wednesday night. Cops said the victim was strangulated to death and the body was later hid in the tank after packing it in a plastic bag. Cops have nabbed fou persons in this connection.
