Playing on the fear factor, a group of five robbers - armed with a bomb-like packet - barged into the residence of Integral University registrar, looted cash and ornaments and left with a warning of not raising an alarm as the school van ferrying their kids was fitted with a remote-controlled bomb.
Hours after they left the place, it turned out that there wasn't any bomb.
The incident took place at around noon here on Tuesday.
One of the miscreants knocked the door of Irfan Ali Khan's Vikas Nagar residence and asked for his mother Razia.
As maid Shakeela went to the first floor to call her, four more robbers forced their entry into the house and tied female members - Razia, Roohi, Shakeela and Qamar Jahan - with a rope.
Later, they dragged Roohi to the room where cash and jewellery were kept. After collecting valuables from lockers, the robbers forced women to part with all the jewellery they were wearing. When Shakeela tried to resist, she was locked inside one of the rooms.
"One of the miscreants showed us a red coloured pouch and claimed it was a bomb. He said it was a remote controlled explosive and if we raised an alarm everything would be finished," Razia later told the police.

{{/usCountry}}"While leaving they told us that a similar bomb was placed in the school van by which the kids were returning back from school and if they raised an alarm the kids would be killed," she further told the police.
While leaving, the goons also took away batteries of mobile phones in the house.
It took a while for the shocked family members to gather themselves and inform the police and Irfan. Taking nothing to chance, cops rushed to the loot site and also to the school van location. Fortunately enough, nowhere any bomb was found.
